The Arab Iron & Steel Union issues the first Arab steel plants map which includes:

·        Locations and distribution of more than 160 steel plants in 18 Arab countries

·        Steelmaking capacities classification by company (integrated, semi-integrated, rolling mill)

·        Crude steel capacities (2010-2012)

·        Long products capacities (2010-2012)

·        Flat products capacities (2010-2012)

·        The largest 8 Arab steel producing companies in 2009

·        DRI production development in Arab countries (five years view)

·        Long and flat products overall production development in the Arab countries (1985-2008)

·        The share of flat and long products in the overall Arab world output (four years view)

·        Export developments in long products, flat products, CRC, galvanized & coated products and pipes (2005-2009)

·        The overall long and flat production capacities of Arab countries in 2010 are estimated at 42 million metric tons, forecast to reach 60 million metric tons by 2012.
